Zvartnots duty free Armenia: brandy at Yerevan airport

Your last chance to buy Armenian brandy before leaving Yerevan is the duty free at Zvartnots airport. Here is where the shops are, how to reserve a bottle in advance and how to get it home.

Where the duty free is at Zvartnots

The airport shops are run by Avolta (formerly Dufry). The main store is in departures, after passport control and security. It covers 1,100 m² and was fully renovated in 2025. There is also a shop in arrivals (330 m²) and a small one in the VIP lounge.

Which Armenian brandy to choose

The duty free has plenty of Armenian brandy, from young three-year-olds to collector bottles. The first thing to check is the age on the label. The longer a brandy has spent in oak, the softer the taste and the longer the finish.

TUFF is sold at Zvartnots duty free too. TUFF XO is aged 20 years and TUFF Heritage 30 years. Every bottle is closed with a cap of volcanic tuff cut by hand, and the cap stays with you after the last glass. Heritage is the usual choice for a boss or someone close; XO goes to the table and to friends. The TUFF collection

How to reserve in advance

Zvartnots duty free has a Reserve & Collect service: you order a bottle online and pick it up in the shop before your flight. That way the brandy you want is waiting for you even if the shelf is empty. Club Avolta members get 5 to 10% off.

How to get the bottle home

Anything you buy in duty free after security flies in your cabin bag, and the 100 ml limit does not apply to it. On a direct flight that is all you need.

A connection is more complicated. The bottle goes into a sealed bag with the receipt, and the bag must stay closed until the end of your journey. Some airports screen liquids again on transfer, so check the rules of your connecting airport beforehand. If in doubt, buy the brandy in town and pack it in your checked luggage.

Import allowances depend on where you land. The EU allows 1 litre of spirits duty free per person aged 17 or over. For other countries, check the customs website.

If you missed it

TUFF is also sold at Bagratashen duty free on the Armenia–Georgia border and in shops in Yerevan. The full list is on the Where to buy page. In Yerevan we deliver by courier within one or two working days.
